As a resident living near the North Hills Shopping Center which is located at the intersection of Devonshire Street and Balboa Boulevard, I am also a City Council candidate and a mother of two. I fully support a transparent and thorough Environmental Impact Report in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") that will hold the development process accountable to our community. CEQA is a critical tool for the protection of all Californians to promote environmental justice and mitigate the public health impacts of potentially unsafe projects near homes and schools. Our team will be conducting a listening campaign with CD 12 residents to assess the needs of our community and make sure we prioritize our children and families over the needs of any proposed development, including Home Depot.
